Bonabyl : A Frightful Comic Adventure by Manek D’Silva

Notes

June 21, 2016:

Page 36 was one of the first test pages I ever drew of Bonabyl.

When you’re starting a comic project, it’s really helpful to do test pages from random points in the book, to really get a sense of the art style and quality you’re aiming for throughout your story. Then you can use that as a benchmark for every page you make. As an artist you risk falling into an endless cycle of work, you can continually tweak colours, you can paint in more detail, it’s difficult to know when a piece is really fully DONE. But if you have good test pages, then as soon as your page looks something like the test pages, you can say it is done and not feel any guilt.

This page is a late cuz I took some time off to work on some neat client projects, played a concert with my band Slain, and even launched my own illustration website (www.manekdsilva.com), do check it out and tell me what you think!
