November 16, 2016:
I know, I know. That was a ridiculously long break to take. Especially after a cliff-hanger, but it’s the pages after cliff-hangers that are the most difficult. Why? Because they represent sudden change. And it’s not just the characters that need to adapt to change, it’s the artist too! All the colour palettes and angles and lighting that you’ve gotten used to in past scenes just goes out the window, and you’ve now gotta set the stage for something new.
Honestly though, my dodgy environmental design skills aside, I was also having a blast in Italy with some great writers and artists from the Oatley Academy of Storytelling. Hopefully all the knowledge I acquired translates to a funnier, scarier, juicier comic for you!
